- User inputs including responses to scenarios, reflections, coaching conversations, and development journal entries
- App usage data such as feature interactions, session duration, and navigation patterns used to improve the service
- Team Pulse responses, which are anonymised wellbeing and engagement ratings visible to managers only in aggregate when a minimum participation threshold is met
Information We Do Not Collect
- Data about patients, residents, service users, or vulnerable individuals
- Precise location data
- Biometric data
- Financial or payment information (handled by the app store)
How We Use Your Information
- Provide personalised learning scenarios and AI coaching relevant to your role and setting
- Generate behavioural insights and track your development progress
- Improve app performance, content quality, and user experience
- Support features such as coaching, reflections, and progress tracking
- Provide anonymised, aggregated organisational insights where applicable
Non-Punitive Use Framework
BLIS is designed exclusively as a developmental tool. All data collected is protected under our non-punitive use policy:
- BLIS data will never be used for disciplinary proceedings, performance management actions, or employment decisions
- Individual reflection data remains private to the user unless they explicitly choose to share it
- Managers receive only anonymised, aggregated team-level insights, never individual scores or reflections
- Research participation is entirely voluntary and governed by separate informed consent
This framework is fundamental to BLIS and cannot be overridden by organisational policy.
Data Protection
- All data is securely stored and transmitted using industry-standard encryption
- We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes
- Data is used only for app functionality, improvement, and anonymised research where consent has been given
- All data processing complies with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018
Data Stored on Your Device
Some features store data locally on your device for additional privacy:
- Supervision session notes
- Incident debrief records
- Decision journal entries
This data is not transmitted to our servers and remains under your direct control.
